Worship for Children
A children’s worship experience is provided during weekend services through the Kids’ Kingdom program (ages3 years old through kindergarten) and the Kid’s Worship program (1st through 3rd grades). Children attend worship with their parents and are dismissed to their rooms after the children’s message.
Sunday School
Sunday School classes are based on Scripture and follow the doctrine of the United Methodist Church. Classes are provided for people of all ages, from 2 years through adult. Sunday School meets each week from 9:45-10:45.
The Ark Ministry
The Ark Ministry provides education and childcare for children through various programs, including Playgroup Plus, Preschool, 5-Year Old Preschool and Noah’s Kids.
Playgroup Plus
Playgroup Plus is designed to meet the needs of children two and a half, three and four years of age. This experience will provide an adjustment stage between a child’s early years at home with parents and the beginning of preschool education.
Playgroup Plus offers classes two days per week— Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:00 am to 11:30 am and 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm. A child may attend only one session per day.
Tuition for the Playgroup Plus is $40 per month for one session per week, and $80 for two sessions per week. There is a $20 registration fee. For more information on our Playground Plus programs or to register your child, call 724-744-3413 extension 150.
Preschool
The Ark’s preschool program will foster your child’s development by providing an environment where children are encouraged to express themselves, be creative, make choices and develop a sense of independence and personal worth. It is designed to meet the needs of children who are in the second year of Ark Programs, or three and a half, four and five years of age.
Children attend three days per week. Sessions are held Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 am to 11:30 am and 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm. Children attend three sessions per week.

5-Year Old Preschool
This specially designed program is intended for children who are not yet ready for the structure of a five day per week kindergarten program. It follows the same curriculum as the preschool program, however, additional activities and earlier exposure to writing letters and numbers is provided.
Children attend three days per week. Sessions are held Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9:00 am to 11:30 am and 12:30 pm to 3:00 pm. Children attend three sessions per week.

Noah’s Kids
The Ark hosts Noah’s Kids, a before and after school program designed to meet the needs of working parents whose child(ren) attend McCullough, Sunrise or Harrison Park Elementary schools. Noah’s Kids provides a safe, fun and creative environment for school-aged children from kindergarten through fifth grade during the school year. Kindergarten Kare
This program provides care, play and transportation to school for children attending afternoon kindergarten at McCullough, Sunrise or Harrison Park Elementary schools. Kindergarten Kare is from 6:30 am to 12:45 pm.
Tuition for morning Kindergarten Kare is $20.00 per morning session, or $90 per week. This includes breakfast (before 8:00 am), snack and transportation to school. There is a $25.00 registration fee for the first child, and a $15.00 registration fee for each additional child.
Noah’s Kids Morning and Afternoon Sessions
Noah’s Kids morning session is from 6:30 am to 9:00 am, and the afternoon session is from 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm.
Tuition for Noah’s Kids morning session (includes breakfast before 8:00 am and transportation to school) is $8.00. The afternoon session is $6.00 if the child is picked up from 4:00 pm to 5:00 pm, and $8.00 if the child is picked up from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm. There is a $25.00 registration fee for the first child, and a $15.00 registration fee for each additional child.
Noah’s Kids operates according to the Penn-Trafford School District’s schedule, but we are open for extended hours for early dismissal days and during snow delays. If you have any questions regarding The Ark or its programs, please contact 724-744-3414.
Vacation Bible School
Each summer, we host nearly 300 children from preschool-5th grade for a week of learning about Jesus. Children participate in Bible stories, music, games and crafts. A separate, mission-minded program is available for 4th and 5th graders.
Confirmation
Confirmation classes for 7th graders are offered each year from September through May. Those students choosing membership will join Community Church on Pentecost weekend.
Created by God
This is a study on the Christian perspective on human sexuality. This weekend class is for 5th-7th graders and their parents. Created by God is offered every other year.
UM Kids and Faith Weavers
These groups meet every 1st and 3rd Sunday evenings from 6:00—7:15 for fellowship and devotion. UM Kids is for 3rd through 6th graders, and Faith Weavers is for 1 st and 2nd graders. These groups meet from September to May and occasionally participate in special events.
Children’s Choir
Children grades 1st through 5th grades are invited to sing in the children’s choir. The choir meets from 9:15-9:45 on Sunday mornings from September through May.
