Vacation Bible School is Fast Approaching
Mark your calendars for June 11-15 and join us for a week of fun! VBS 2012 is "OPERATION OVERBOARD: DARE TO GO DEEP WITH GOD!". Operation Overboard is an invitation to kids to have a deeper relationship with God through Jesus Christ. Set in an aquatic environment, kids will go on a deep sea adventure and meet people of deep faith from both the Old and New Testaments. These exciting and engaging stories will inspire our divers to develop life-changing habits as they grow and become followers of God. VBS IS FOR KIDS IN PRESCHOOL THRU SIXTH GRADE. We're also looking for VOLUNTEERS to help us lead our kids on this awesome adventure! Childcare is available for the younger ones for those volunteering only. Please pick up a registration form at the Welcome Center or in the church office. Any questions, contact Erin Kerstetter (VBS Director)at erin_kerstetter@yahoo.com or Sue Grkman (4th-6th Grade Programs). Registration deadline is May 25th.
VBS Decorating Committee Needs Volunteers!!! Please call or text Melinda Gilmore at 412-841-2789.
Can't help out during the week of VBS but want to support Operation Overboard? PLEASE stop by the bulletin board near the Church Office entrance and grab a few supply requests to help us Gear Up for Operation Overboard! We are in need of donations of many items to help make our program a success. We are also in need of some artificial plants (used or parts and pieces are ok). We need lots of them, so if you have some extra lying around the house that you would like to get rid of, please drop them in the supply boxes. Please note that they will not be returned. Thank you
Attention 4th and 5th Graders! We will have a separate VBS program for our older kids. This year we will be including the 6th graders as well! This program is geared more towards activities that will keep the kids following the curriculum of VBS while also adding some service and leadership roles to prepare them for volunteering in the near future. We will spend the week listening to sermons courtesy of Frank Audia, playing games, enjoying snacks prepared by Kendra Simpson and doing a craft that will let your child's personality shine through! We have field trips planned, including visiting patients at a nursing home and a "Walk for Water" Walk-a-Thon at the PPG Aquarium. We hope your child will join us for a great week! Any questions, please contact Sue Grkman.

General Conference Update
The update will be Sunday, June 3rd at 9:45am in the Sanctuary. Pastor John served as a delegate at General Conference and will recap the legislation passed and the changes that will result. Questions and discussion are welcome.
Walking & Prayer on Tuesdays
Our walking and prayer group has been a wonderful time of sharing and growing healthier. With the wonderful weather and world that God provides us, it is time to take our walking outside and share it with others. The walking and prayer group has concluded for the spring and summer. We will start up again in the fall when the weather turns colder. Enjoy walking with friends in your neighborhood.
Christian Love in Action- United Methodist Volunteers in Mission
The vitality of the United Methodist Volunteers in Mission movement is alive and well in the United Methodist Church! Participants testify to lives transformed and congregations renewed as they become involved in "service with others" mission outreach. The United Methodist Volunteers in Mission movement is one of the most exciting things happening in church today. Contact Diane Yeargers at dyeargers@comcast.net and express your interest. It is a home repair mission, but all avenues are needed: worship, food and visitation. The 2012 West Virginia Mission Trip is scheduled for June 17th thru June 23rd. Check your schedule.
Kairos Reminder
The Kairos prayer sign up chart is in the Multi-Ministry room. Please sign up to pray for this important ministry, which will be held at the maximum security prison in Waynesburg on May 17-20.

3rd Annual Blessing of the Riders
The calendar says spring, and that means the motorcycle riding season is just around the corner. After an incredible 2011 Blessing of the Riders, plans are underway to make the 2012 event even better! Come admire a group of great bikes, a collection of cool chrome and enjoy some fantastic food on May 19, 2012 beginning at 5pm. Hosted at Community Church, riders will gather for live music, an inspirational message and a prayer for all riders for a safe riding season. If you have a motorcycle in your garage or you know someone who does, then make the Blessing of the Riders your riding destination May 19th. Frank Audia, Community Church's Director of Youth Ministries and your fellow rider, will share the evening's message. Prior to the service beginning at 6pm, you are invited for awesome food and lots of great conversation with your fellow enthusiasts. Plan to join us for the Third Annual Blessing of the Riders.
